Plan Your Work Day Around Your Toddler
In this surreal new world, where everybody is trying
to find their footing, balancing the different aspects of life can be
difficult. This becomes more trying if you have toddlers at home.
These days, parents are trying various ways to keep
their toddlers busy while they work from home. Here are a few tips that might
help you get things on track.
Pre-Plan Your Day
Many people make a list or plan their work day the
evening before. This helps them manage their time better. One way to help make
your day flow easier is to plan your child’s day the evening before in tandem
with yours.
Schedule Work Calls Effectively
Calls are one activity that you can try and structure.
Schedule calls to coincide with that time of the day when your toddler is
sleepy or quiet. If that isn’t an option, you could manage your time in such a
way that one parent is free and with the child, while the other is on calls.
Create Workstations at Their Level
Set up your work station next to your child’s play area. It could be
kept apart by putting up a play pen. The child will not feel left out when you
are seated at the same level as them.
Tire Them Out
Break up your work day with intense activities with your toddler. You
could go for a long walk or let them play in the yard. When you get back, they
will be ready for a nap and this will give you time to catch up on work.
Follow the Routine
Routine is most important with a child and sticking to it will help you
manage your day better. If your child has a routine it is easier for you to
plan your work effectively and manage your time efficiently.
